Department Of Computer Science

Department of Computer Science was established in 1990. It was headed by Physics' Head of the Dept. and a paper of Computational Physics was introduced at M.Sc. level. A Computer Science paper was introduced at B.Sc. level too. In 1999 it was separated and declared as an independent Dept. There were two Computer Labs. One remained with the Physics Dept. The Lab. inherited contained 15 Pentium III with complete Networking facilities.

Further two Labs. were added each with 30 Pentium IV Computers with networking setup. When the College was upgraded to University, a four-year B.S. Course, two years MCS Morning, three years MCS Evening Programs has been started and PGD (Computer Science & IT) Evening Program also started from August 2004.

Currently, this Department provides a high-tech, state-of- the-art training in the field of Computer Science. The department is equipped with networked P-4 systems and Internet laboratories, research lab, hardware lab, networking lab, multimedia lab & general lab. Faculty and students are highly motivated to enhance their knowledge and expertise in computer science & IT.

Personal attention and guidance is provided to each student through the lectures, tutorials, supervised lab work and seminars. Guest speakers & seminars arrange for guidance and counseling the students in their career goals. It is our commitment to produce professionally mature and dedicated students who are ambitious to achieve difficult goals within deadlines.
