The Microbiology department was affiliated (for graduate level teaching) with the University of Karachi in 1979. Ever since, thousands of students have earned the relevant degrees. After getting the status of chartered Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences & Technology, the Department is now being engaged in Post Graduate Teaching and Research Activities.

SEMINAR LIBRARY FACILITY
The Department has its own Seminar Library with more than 200 books. Mrs. Atiya Naeem is incharge of the lending library. Thousands of students have been benefited from this library.

STUDENTS
The department has already admitted about 50 students in M. Sc. (prev.) and Final. Sooner the strength of M. Sc. Students is expected to be doubled. While more than 200 students are studying in B. Sc. Honours and Subsidiary I and II year Microbiology classes.
